“Rescue animals aren’t broken, they’ve simply experienced more life than other animals. If they were human we would call them wise. They would be the ones with tales to tell and stories to write; the ones dealt a bad hand who responded with courage. Don’t pity them. Do something. Help to rescue. Donate. Volunteer. Foster. Adopt. And, be proud to have their greatness by your side.”

Arizona Desert Dogs was formed by 5 women back in October 2010 after starting a rescue effort of 101 dogs that had been abandoned in the desert by people who didn't want them anymore. We took them from poor conditions and have gotten some adopted, some into foster homes, and the rest are in boarding.

Arizona Desert Dogs is working under a 501(c)3. Your donation is tax deductable.

We would like to extend our deepest gratitude to Liz and Denny for the donation of 2 dogs traps and snares in the memory of Maggie. These much needed traps will help us catch some of the frightened dogs that have been dumped in the valley.

 SWEET TIAWAN NEEDS OUR HELP

Taiwan lived the first five years of his life in a horrendous hoarding  situation in the middle of the desert; exposed to the outdoor elements of unbearable  heat, no proper shelter, no human contact and drinking from a mice-infested, black, algae filled bucket. Thanks to the perseverance of some very compassionate women known as Arizona Desert Dogs, last summer Taiwan was rescued and placed in a loving foster home. Taiwan has been adapting to life outside of captivity and learning what it is like to be loved  and spoiled . Taiwan has an undiagnosed illness that is causing a fluid buildup in his abdomen and in his pericardium sac. After draining this area for 24 hours, Dr. Aguirre at Vet meds is optimistic, depending on the fluid analysis, that this still could be treatable with a favorable outcome. His thoughts are, a tumor that is not showing on ultra sound (not favorable) or a condition that would require surgery to cut a window in his pericardium sac that would allow for fluid to then be dispersed into his chest cavity. The estimated cost is $3000.  Taiwan could then live very comfortably for a long time like this.

Taiwan deserves another chance; this is why we are reaching out to everyone we know. If you can find it within your heart to make a donation, please go to our Donate page and make a tax-deductible donation and specify  For Taiwan. Even the smallest amount of $10 or $20 will help save this precious hound!

Thanks to everyone for being puppy angels
